Productive Media was founded in 1996 to provide the highest available quality video production to the emerging interactive media industry.
We've provided the video expertise on thousands of hours of award-winning medical, fitness, and technical training. We've helped non-profits raise millions of dollars to fight cancer, provide aid to our elderly, and to provide shelter for our less fortunate citizens. Today, there is an amazing amount of choices in styles of production, recording medium used, and delivery channels to be explored.
We shoot in both high or standard definition in the form of tape, solid state memory, or blu-ray DVDs as recording media, and we edit on non-linear editors.
We distribute projects using the following methods:
- DVD
- Video tape
- BLU-Ray
- Windows Media
- Quicktime
- Transport streams
- Flash files
- Hosting sites like YouTube.com
- Or almost any other way you can imagine
Sporting events, dance recitals, orchestral performances, and commencement ceremonies pretty much look the same as they always did. But now we can stream them live to anywhere in the world, or deliver them on a DVD or thumb drive, or host the media on-line for client comments and downloads. With a potential audience of billions, this is an exciting time in the communications industry.
But even with these new technologies available to us, fundamentals still apply.
A standard "talking head" interview still requires a camera with an operator, a sound person, lights, and microphones. A producer who asks questions and guides the interview is still good to have, and a speakerphone for the client to listen in on is still often used. Presentations to a group can be still be shot with one or more cameras. They can be switched live, or edited together later.
